Eliminate as much standing water as possible. Mosquitoes may breed in water that has been stagnant for more than four days. Some areas where standing water may be a problem: discarded tires, clogged gutters, wading pools, wheelbarrows, bird baths, swimming pool covers and partially filled swimming pools (clean and chlorinate even when not in use), ornamental pools and ponds (aeration will help problem), and livestock watering troughs (clean at least monthly).
